Hair: more shine with vinegar

Our grandmothers already used it to make their hair shine ... Inexpensive beauty products. Vinegar embellishes the lengths and cleanses the scalp. Here's how to get the most out of it ...

Hair: more shine with vinegar

WHICH VINEGAR SHOULD I USE?

Better to preferably use organic cider vinegar. Other spoonfuls of vinegar are less suitable because they contain more alcohol, which over time dries out the hair. I particularly recommended organic because it does not contain preservatives, which can cause damage to the hair. Apple cider vinegar contains essential vitamins and acids, several enzymes, and a healthy dose of pectin. It is rich in minerals (potassium ...) And traces elements such as phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, fluorine, silicon.

WHAT EXACTLY IS IT FOR?

The vinegar shines, detangles the lengths, rebalances the pH of the scalp. It eliminates dandruff and itching in mild dandruff conditions. By closing the scales, it even has anti-static virtues, because the lengths are less electric. In addition, thanks to the acetic acid it contains, the vinegar traps the limescale of hard water, they can deposit the residues of which on the hair and tarnish the fiber, and a fortiori, the coloring.

WHAT TYPES OF HAIR IS IT FOR?

All hair types, from frizzy to smooth. It restores radiance to brown tones. So it is suitable for brown, red, auburn, chestnut hair, which it makes shine intensely. I do not recommend it for blond, natural, or colored hair, or with highlights. Because, overuse, can leave pinkish reflections on this light hair. But can be used on all other shades of colored hair, because it does not damage the coloring.

HOW TO APPLY IT?

After shampooing, on rinsed hair, add in a bowl of lukewarm water between a teaspoon (for short hair) and two tablespoons of vinegar (for long hair). I poured this mixture over the scalp and the hair. Leave on for five minutes. To be done after each shampoo or as a "cure" if the hair is dull.

SHOULD I RINSE IT?

It all depends on whether you can stand the smell of vinegar. Better to rinse it with lukewarm water, or cold in summer for more shine, to prevent the lengths from retaining the smell. But the benefits are likely to be less. The other solution is to add two drops of essential oil of your choice to mask the smell. No need to rinse in this case.

DOES IT STILL SMELL OF VINEGAR ON DRY HAIR?

No, if you have rinsed your hair properly, the smell will fade on dry hair. It can remain present in the absence of rinsing.

NATURE VINEGAR OR RINSE VINEGAR, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

If you want an all-natural product, prefer bottled organic cider vinegar that can be found in organic stores or the organic aisle of supermarkets. If you can't stand the (strong) smell, opt for a so-called rinse vinegar from a brand of hair products. Their scent is more delicate, often flowery to mask the smell of vinegar. Other conditioning and softening ingredients are present in their formula to improve the pleasure of use and the result on the hair.

CAN I USE STYLING PRODUCTS AFTER?

Yes, it is quite possible to apply for a styling product afterward. If you have rinsed with natural vinegar, it is better to use a natural or organic styling product to prolong the benefits.

ARE THERE ANY PRECAUTIONS FOR USE?

In case of minor irritations or pimples or if the hair is very sensitized, it is better to avoid rinsing them with vinegar. You can also space out its use by only rinsing with vinegar once in two.
