Haircare: 5 homemade hair oil recipes

For the health and beauty of the scalp and lengths, nothing beats an application of oil! Many have interesting properties to nourish, sheath, detangle and shine the hair. They can be associated (or not) with essential oils if one wishes to create a more effective and more "treating" mixture. If you face two problems, for example, with an oily scalp and rather dry lengths, use two oils chosen to accord to their virtues. You can also decide to treat a problem one day (the scalp), and another (the lengths and ends) the next day ... Before proceeding with your DIY treatment adapted to your hair problem, we adopt the right reflexes.

HAIR BATH: A ROUTINE IN 6 STEPS

  • I applied the vegetable oil or the mixture of oils in small quantities to the entire scalp.
  • Then we stretch it over the lengths and to the ends. Ideally, proceed strand by strand, smoothing the product and allowing it to penetrate the fiber.
  • Then, we tie the hair; we tie a hot towel (or we cap a plastic cap) around his head to maintain the heat and promote the penetration of oils.
  • 30 minutes break is enough if you are in a hurry, but an hour will be more effective. Parched or frizzy hair can even let the hair bath act overnight, protecting the pillow.
  • Rinse with a gentle and natural shampoo: in two stages if you have oily hair, in one on dry hair, which will leave a light protective film on the lengths.
  • It is advisable to do an oil bath once a week if the hair is dry to very dry.
  • For oily hair, we can decrease the frequency once every 15 days, for example.
